Configuring Jamf

Step 1: New user creation

Log into your Jamf account. We're going to create a new user with specific permissions for Intello to use. This ensures that the Intello integration has minimal privilege access to your Jamf account.

Note: this process is required because Jamf only allows integrations via basic authentication.

Start by heading to the Jamf home page and going to settings:

Next, click on the Jamf Pro User Accounts and Groups.

Click on the new button to create a new Jamf user.

Enter the information for the user with the following values:

  • Username: intello

  • Privilege Set: Custom

  • Full Name: Intello Integration

  • Password: use your password manager to generate a secure password. Make sure to save this password in your password manager because you will need it later.

Step 2: Assigning Permissions

To assign the right permissions for the Intello Integration, go to the Privileges tab and select Jamf Pro Server Objects.

Enable the following with Read Access:

  • Computers

  • Jamf Pro User Accounts & Groups

  • Users

Step 3: Entering credentials into Intello

Head back to your Intello dashboard and enter the following information:

  • Company Workspace: enter the domain of your Jamf server. For example if you use Jamf Cloud and you access the workspace under: tony-stark.jamfcloud.com, you can enter tony-stark. If you host your own version of Jamf you can enter the full domain you access Jamf from.

  • User ID: enter intello  or the user name you used.

  • User Password: enter the password that you generated.

After you enter the credentials hit Submit. It can take up to 48 hours for your desktop app usage to sync. We will send you an email when your data is live in the dashboard.
